The Cherry Tree Club is a free pre-school program for children (ages 2 1/2-5 years) of Mercer County homeless families who cannot access or afford quality pre-school education. These children - placed in shelters, transitional living accommodations and other temporary housing situations - are transported to the pre-school for a high quality early childhood program, 5 hours/day, 5 days/week.
The Cherry Tree Club's mission is to make sure that the joy and magic of childhood is not lost to homeless children. More specifically, the goal of the program is to provide a loving and nurturing environment that allows the children to thrive and grow emotionally, socially, and academically.
The Cherry Tree Club is a cooperative venture of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church and Home Front - a non-profit organization which works with homeless families in Mercer County, New Jersey.
