Sunday September 12th is God’s Work, Our Hands Day. We join this day with congregations throughout the country to celebrate who we are as the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America — one church, freed in Christ, to serve and love our neighbor.
Our service project for the day will be assembling Welcome Home Backpacks for people being released from incarceration. We will be collecting items for these packets in August.

Welcome Home Backpacks
On God's Work, Our Hands Sunday, September 12, 2021, we will be assembling Welcome Home boxes for persons being released from incarceration. They will be given to the person as he, or she, leaves the prison, and are for those persons who have no family or friends to greet them as they leave. Some of these folks will be leaving with only the clothes on their backs and some do not even have a home to which they can return. The boxes are a way to let them know that there are people who care about them and want them to have a positive experience as they re-enter society. It's another way that we can show God's love. The list of needed items is below. Whatever you are able to contribute will be greatly appreciated. There is a collection box on the porch outside the white doors leading to the Community Room. Monetary donations will also be appreciated. Please make checks out to Prince of Peace and earmark for God's Work, Our Hands service project.
