Bishop’s Challenge Lutheran History Trip

At the May 2020 ELCA NJ Synod Assembly, the Bishop challenged our NJ congregations to build awareness of our complicity in systemic racism and the need for reparations.

As part of this year-long challenge the NJ Synod has organized a bus trip advertised in Jersey Jottings this week, as shown below.

Several POP members have already signed up for the bus trip, and  you can, too, using the information given. You can also meet in Philadelphia to join the tour, but if you are vaccinated and interested in carpooling with others who are vaccinated, please email Nancy Reyes at nancyauerreyes@gmail.com by November 7. The list of interested POP members and friends will be shared so you can coordinate a carpool among yourselves if you choose.

Join us Saturday, November 13th as we visit the African American Museum and the Mask & Wig Club, originally built by The Rev. Jehu Jones as the first African American Lutheran Church in the United States

Two convenient NJ pickup and drop-off spots!
(Summit & Hamilton Square)

$25 for round trip bus and museum ticket
(or $9 museum ticket if traveling on your own)
